Correction: Saginaw Hall Bylaw Vote

In the Building Trades newspaper, it was stated that the Saginaw Hall would be open Monday, March 26th for the bylaw vote. This is not the case. The Saginaw hall is closed and voting will only be at Flint, Lansing and Novi.  If you have any questions please contact your Business Agent.

Ford Addendum Vote 2017

Mid-September, the IW International sent out a Ford Addendum for Locals and Trades to vote on and Adopt. After reading and reviewing, Local 25 sent in a DENIED vote. Recently, we were notified that the addendum was PASSED and will go into efffect.

Please know that Local 25 did vote to deny the addendum. The letter that was sent into the IW International and the new Ford Addendum can be viewed on the website. If you have any other questions, please contact one of the business agents.

If you are contacted by FL research company out of Fargo, North Dakota, they are not sanctioned through your local.

They are calling asking you questions about your union and saying that they are representing and sanctioned by local 25. They are not sanctioned by this local. And you do not have to answer any of the questions that they ask.

This is a scam. If you are contacted please record the phone number and let the hall know.

 


2017 Michigan Construction Career Days - May 4 & 5

Since 2008, MICCD is Michigan’s premier construction career exploration event.

Based on the National Career Day model, MICCD provides Michigan’s young people a chance to experience construction up-close, getting the chance to use real tools, materials and heavy equipment under the direct guidance of construction professionals from all sectors of the industry.

These young people will not only see what construction is, but learn of the training and education paths to secure the good paying jobs a career in construction provides.

This years event will take place May 4 - 5 at the Operating Engineers Training & Education Center in Howell, Michigan.

More Progress as Final Truss Placed Above Via Concourse at the Little Caesars Arena

The final piece of structural steel was placed above the Via concourse and adjoining buildings outside Little Caesars Arena today.

Crews took a moment to celebrate the final truss going into place and much like the topping out ceremony of Little Caesars Arena, held in August, the final Via truss had an evergreen tree on it to mark yet another point of impressive progress.
